Islamabad: NH&MP foils bid to smuggle charas
ISLAMABAD: The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) Monday foiled a bid to smuggle 115 kilograms of charas and arrested the accused smuggler. According to the NH&MP spokesman, officers Amir Javed and Khalid Pervez during routine patrol signalled the driver of a Suzuki van (HX–250), having improper lights, to stop but he tried to escape. The patrolmen chased the vehicle and arrested Jan Muhammad, son Abdul Hanan of Charsadda. On search of the Suzuki van, 115-kilogram charas was recovered. Later, the driver confessed that he was trafficking charas to Lahore from Peshawar. He was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force.
