Lahore: 4 bombs seized from Lower Mall
LAHORE: The City Division Police have seized four bombs from three locations in the Lower Mall police limits after they received a warning call on the Police Emergency Number 15 on Monday. Police sources said four bombs were found around 8pm on Monday. A senior police officer said the bombs, containing ball bearing weighing 2 to 3 kilogrammes, were timed to explode. The official said it would have been a disaster if the bombs had exploded. The first bomb was recovered from outside the main gate of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) (Operations) Office, opposite to Civil Lines College.
The bomb was packed in a shopping bag and was put in a pickle jar. The second bomb was planted in a waste enclosure on Rattigan Road near the SSP Office. The remaining two bombs were placed in milk cans alongside the road outside the SSP Office. City Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Rana Abdul Jabbar said a caller informed the police that he heard a voice coming from the waste enclosure on Retigan Road in Lower Mall police limits. The police immediately reached the scene and seized the bombs.
