Peshawar: Drugs smuggling bid foiled
PESHAWAR: National Highway and Motorway Police has foiled a bid to smuggle 115kg of fine quality charas from Peshawar to Lahore and arrested one culprit. The motorway police officers SPO Amir Javed and PO Khalid Pervez were on their routine patrol on M-2 section, in the area of Behra. They signalled a Suzuki van bearing registration (HX–250) due to improper lights.
However, the driver instead of stopping the vehicle sped away. The police chased the vehicles.The driver parked the Suzuki carry van on roadside and tried to escape by crossing the fence. On search, police recovered 115kg of fine quality charas and arrested the accused Jan Mohammad.
