2 robbers arrested in Lahore
LAHORE: The National Highways and Motorway Police, Lahore, Friday claimed to have arrested two dacoits on the National Highways near Sahiwal soon after a robbery incident in a nearby village and recovered illegal weapons, gold and cash. The NH&MP patrolling officers, Mian Riaz and Muhammed Iqbal, observed three suspects riding a motorcycle while one of them was wearing-bloodstained clothes. The patrolling officers chased the dacoits and a heavy exchange of fire took place between the criminals and the police officers.
The NH&MP arrested two dacoits, including the ringleader, while their third accomplices managed to escape. The arrested dacoits were identified as Rizwan Ali and Ghulam Rasool, residents of Sahiwal. The police also recovered one 30–bore pistol with rounds, watches and gold ornaments, the dacoits had taken away during robbery in a nearby village. The accused have been handed over to the local police for further investigation.
