Lahore: SHO, constable arrested for robbery
LAHORE: SSP Operations Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmad on Saturday suspended the SHO of the Ghalib Market Police Station and a constable of the Tiger Squad on the charges of committing a dacoity in the Defence area. Both the accused, namely SHO Ahsan Ashraf Butt and Constable Jafar, were arrested and put in the lockup in the Defence Police Station after a case was registered against them under Section 395 of the PPC.
According to a spokesperson of SSP Operations Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmad, Muhammad Arif, a resident of K–Block, Defence, filed an application in the office of Capital City Police Officer Pervaiz Rathore, submitting that some CIA officials had taken away jewellery and cash from his house.
The CCPO called the CIA officials who expressed their ignorance about the incident. The inquiry into the incident was handed over to the SSP Operations Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmad. Later, the complainant saw one of the accused officials in Gulberg police limits patrolling in police uniform and informed the SSP.
The SSP called the SHO of Ghalib Market police in his office and asked him to present all the policemen of his area before complainant Muhammad Arif for identification.
When all the officials were brought to the SSP Operations, the complainant identified SHO Ghalib Market Ahsan Ashraf Butt and Constable Jafar. Muhammad Arif told the SSP that SHO Ahsan had pressurised his entire family and tortured his employees. The SHO and other official introduced themselves as CIA employees, he added.
After the allegations leveled against the accused officials were proved true during the inquiry, SSP Operations Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmad issued orders for the arrest of Ihsan Ashraf and Jafar.
