SHO, constable held for looting office in Lahore
LAHORE: Ghalib Market SHO Ehsan Ashraf Butt and Tiger Squad Head Constable Jafar were arrested here on Saturday when they were found guilty in an inquiry into looting the office of a construction company in the Defence-A police limits. Complainant Sheikh Ayyub, the brother of Royal Palm Golf and Country Club owner Sheikh Younis, told the police that the SHO and the head constable raided the office of Husnain Construction Company in the Defence-A police precincts, on January 27 over the pretext of recovering imported wine on a tip-off.
“When they failed to recover the wine, they started thrashing employees and looted cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees from the office,” he added. Cantt SP Capt (retd) Ghulam Azfar conducted an inquiry into the incident. During investigations, Jafar told the police that he and Butt had conducted the raid after Sabzazar SHO Shahzeb informed them about the presence of wine at the office.
