Militants arrested in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three activists of the banned Jihadi outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa by foiling a robbery bid in a house in the limits of the Cantonment Police Station.
The News reported that, the District Police Officer (DPO) Javed Alam Odho told in a news conference that three persons sneaked into the house of Mushtaq Bohri on Thursday morning and injured his sister Hashmat Khatoon with a knife but area residents gathered on her cries.
He said the police arrived at the spot and arrested the men, disarmed them and recovered a motorbike from their possession. The police officer said Waseem Qureshi, Abdul Sami and Mushtaq were members of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and further investigations were underway. Meanwhile, a press release of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa refuted the police allegation that the arrested men were its members.
