Arms smugglers’ gang busted
Karachi: The Landhi police on Friday claimed to have busted an inter-provincial gang of arms dealers after an encounter.
As reported in The News, Landhi police on a tip-off raided a hideout in the Bhutto Nagar area and after an encounter, arrest suspects including Mohammed Ali alias Cobra and Israr. During the encounter, a policeman was also injured. The police said that the arrested suspects were wanted to the police in 15 cases of heinous crimes.
The police claimed to have recovered two rifles and 50 cartages, two TT pistols, seven magazines along with 25 cartages, one 30 bore folding rifle along with five magazines and 1015 cartages, 125 cartage of 12 bore shotgun and one kilogram of hashish from their possession.
The culprits were allegedly involved in 15 cases of heinous crimes including possession of illegal weapons, running gambling dens, murder cases, robberies and other crimes.
