2 killed in clash between Bengali groups
KARACHI: A clash between two Bengali groups claimed the lives of two people in Zaman Town police station limits on Tuesday.
As per Daily Times details, armed men affiliated with the Sher-e-Bengal opened fire on their rival group the Bengal Action Committee (BAC) in Korangi No 21/2 near Bengali Para. As a result, BAC man Fareed Haroon Rasheed, 45, and Bilal Hammadullah, 18, sustained bullet injuries. Following the incident, both the wounded were moved to the hospital where doctors pronounced them dead. The incident caused tension and fear in the area and caused suspension of routine and commercial life. As per SHO Huzoor Bux Solangi, Rasheed and Jalal of Sher-e-Bengal had previously fought on Sunday and had an unsettled dispute; Jalal and his two accomplices Abul Hakeem and Lal Mohammad on Tuesday targeted Rasheed and accidentally killed the teenager as well. When Rasheed had retaliated, Jalal was also injured and moved to the hospital where he was arrested by the police with a TT pistol, Solangi added. The police have arrested Jalal, Hakeem and Mohammad, and registered a case against them.
