Warrants issued in Haris Steel case
As reported in The News, an accountability court on Thursday issued non bailable arrest warrants of Haris Afzal son of Sheikh Afzal, the main accused of Haris Steel Mills’s reference case.
The court has directed authorities to arrest and produce the accused before the court on March 27.
The accused were arrested by NAB on the directions of the Supreme Court from Malaysia. In this case, 17 accused along with Sheikh Afzal and Sheikh Munir had filed an application for plea-bargain that they will transfer their assets to the Bank of Punjab. This agreement was approved by the Chairman NAB and accountability court had released them on bail after recording their statements. Later, four accused Hamza Afzal, Fareeha Afzal, Haris Afzal and Amjad Ali did not fulfil the terms of the plea-bargain and the court had issued their arrest warrants. However, three accused except Haris Afzal appeared before the court and fulfilled all the terms of plea-bargain.[google-map]
