Police kill 2 alleged bandits in Karachi
KARACHI: Police shot dead two alleged bandits and wounded four others in two different police encounters in the biggest metropolis of the country Sunday.
The News reported that four men were looting vehicles by blocking the road near the Malir River in Malir-15 within the Sharafi Goth police limits, when a passer by informed the police. Police rushed to the scene where after exchange of fire, they killed one bandit besides injuring three others.
Before shifting the four men to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, police claimed to have recovered two TT pistols and valuables from the bandits. The killed bandit has been identified as Javed, 35. His injured companions were recognised as Hassan, Shahid, and Ibrahim.
In another incident on Sunday, two miscreants entered into a local towel factory in Sector 15/B in the area of Gabol Town Industrial Area Police Station.
After getting a call from the watchman of a nearby factory, Police reached the scene where the miscreants had held employees of the factory hostage at gunpoint. After some trade of fire, Police managed to kill one of the looters besides injuring the other one and recovering two TT pistols.
The injured was recognised as Usman while the one killed by Police firing was identified as Taufiq.
