Kidnappers kill a woman, her son in Karachi
KARACHI: The tortured and bullet-riddled bodies of a woman, identified as Hanifa, and her son, recognised as Kamran, were recovered by the Baghdadi police Tuesday, The News reported.
The police said that the deceased were residents of Gali-7, Ali Hotel area, Kalri, and their bodies were found abandoned inside a park situated near Kharadar Jamat Khana.
During initial investigation, the police discovered that Hanifa and her sons, Kamran and Imran, were kidnapped by Fahim and Hanif, the sons of a notorious drug pusher of Lyari named Badshah Khan, from their house in Kalri.
The police were subsequently informed, and they carried out a raid with five police mobiles and two armoured personnel carriers (APC) in Gali-9, Daryabad area of Kalri. However, they faced severe resistance, and could not find the abducted family.
Later, on Tuesday morning, the bodies of Hanifa and her son Kamran were found inside a park.
However, the third abducted, Imran, is believed to be still under the captivity of the accused.
The police said that it seemed that the deceased were killed on the pretext of being the police’s informers. A case has been registered and investigation is under way.[google-map]
