Capital Police bust carjackers gang
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Police busted a gang of carjackers Thursday arresting three of them besides recovering four vehicles from their possession and looted items worth Rs250,000, Police officials told The News Friday.
According to details, SP City Sajid Kiani assigned the task to ASP (City) Haroon Joiya and SHO Aabpara Police Station Inspector Abid to curb the car lifting incidents in the area.
The police teams arrested three carjackers and recovered three Suzuki Mehran cars bearing registration numbers (MU-4875), (GF-816-ICT) and (JJ-723-ICT).
The police also recovered a Suzuki pickup from them bearing fake registration plates.
The police also recovered five tape recorders and CD players, two cylinders, electronic equipment and looted items worth Rs250,000 from them
Two cases of vehicle theft were registered with Aabpara Police Station while one case was registered with the Airport Police Station, Rawalpindi.
