2 more schools blown up in Mohmand, Bara
Two more schools were blown up by militants in Fata on Saturday. The Mohmand political administration has decided to terminate the services of watchmen of 30 destroyed educational institutions and health centres after another government-run school was blown up in Alingar area in Mohmand’s Safi subdivision, official sources told The News on Saturday.
The sources said that militants had planted explosive devices in the building of Government Middle School, Alingar, which exploded early in the day. Local militants, whose names were not disclosed to the media, claimed responsibility for the destruction of school.
The sources said the militants took action in retaliation to military operation in Safi subdivision. Soon after the incident, the political administration held an emergency meeting in which it was decided that watchmen of 30 educational institutions and health outlets would be dismissed due to their failure to perform their duty to protect the schools.
