Govt officials, media raid ‘cheaters’ in Karachi
KARACHI: Media persons and government officials teamed up Tuesday to raid various examination centres in the metropolis where the SSC exams are being underway.
The News reported Wednesday that the raids were made on the directors of Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, during which, the team found out use of unfair means and presence of irrelevant persons at numerous examination centres.
Additional Secretary to Governor on Education, Kamran Shamshad and Bari Jilani and District Officer (Headquarter), Education Department of the City District Government, Ahmed Nawaz Niazi in a joint raid with media men paid surprise visits to various examination centres in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town.
During a raid at Government Boys Secondary School, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 6, the team found out presence of cheating mafia besides other youngsters and irrelevant people.
Superintendent at the Centre, M Akbar Masood Khan failed to come up with solid arguments with regards to presence of cheating mafia. The team also found out that special rooms were arranged by the school management and the invigilators and candidates were both from the same school.
The News also pointed out the presence of an outsider in a class room who Khan named as Abdul Mateen s/o Sher Ali told the team that he came to assist him as he was facing pressure from external elements.
