Islamabad: Illegal radio station seized
BHAI PHERU: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) acted against an illegal FM radio station Monday in city of Bhai Pheru in District Kasur and seized its transmission.
According to a Press Release issued by PEMRA, information was received that an illegal FM Radio Station in the name of Mast FM 96 using the frequency 96.4 MHz was working in District Kasur covering Bhai Pheru.
Accordingly, a PEMRA enforcement team was constituted to seize the illegal radio station.
The team raided the premises and seized the equipment. Owners of illegal radio station, two brothers Ayaz Khan and Ijaz Khan were arrested while their third partner and brother Sarkar Khan was not available at the time of seizure.
An FIR was registered against the culprits under the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 at the Bhai Pheru Police Station and further investigation was in progress.—PR
