Karachi: Drug peddlers, street criminals among 12 held
KARACHI: Police carried out four raids Thursday arresting at least 12 people including two women for drug trafficking, robbery, and street crimes, the Pakistan Observer reported Friday. On a tip-off, the Police raided a house belonging to Shah Jan in Gharib Koth area and arrested eight people, Raheem Bakhsh, Ameer Bakhsh, and Qadir Khan, including two women, Saba and Sana. Police also took 18kg opium and 12kg heroin under their custody from their possession. Baghdadi Police Station nabbed two mobile and bike snatchers, identified as Naseer Baloch and Raju and recovered from their possession a stolen motorbike and a pistol. In Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Police captured a fleeing robber, Shahid, after snatching jewellery from a woman, while his accomplice, Ijaz, managed to run away. In PIB Colony, Police claimed to have arrested a wanted criminal, Shafiq, who was wanted in murder and robbery cases.
