GHOTKI: The kidnappers released manager of the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC), Idrees Khan, Thursday without payment of any ransom after 17 days of detention, the Business Recorder reported Friday. Idrees Khan was kidnapped near District Ghotki Sindh while travelling for seismic operation in the area.

KARACHI: Police carried out four raids Thursday arresting at least 12 people including two women for drug trafficking, robbery, and street crimes, the Pakistan Observer reported Friday. On a tip-off, the Police raided a house belonging to Shah Jan in Gharib Koth area and arrested eight people, Raheem Bakhsh, Ameer Bakhsh, and Qadir Khan, including two women, Saba and Sana. Police also took 18kg opium and 12kg heroin under their custody from their possession. Baghdadi Police Station nabbed two mobile and bike snatchers, identified as Naseer Baloch and Raju and recovered from their possession a stolen motorbike and a pistol. In Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Police captured a fleeing robber, Shahid, after snatching jewellery from a woman, while his accomplice, Ijaz, managed to run away. In PIB Colony, Police claimed to have arrested a wanted criminal, Shafiq, who was wanted in murder and robbery cases.
QUETTA: Miscreants fired a rocket in Muhallah Faqirabad, Joint Road and Civil Hospital in Quetta Thursday night, injuring at least two people, the Express Tribune reported Friday.

LAHORE: In a yet another case of medical malpractice in Lahore, a middle-aged man Sagheer r/o Mominpura, was killed due to a wrong injection by a practitioner in Doctor Nisar’s Clinic on April 25, 2010 (Sunday) and his relatives staged protest in front of the Baghbanpura Police Station Thursday, the Daily Times reported Friday.
LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Corporate Crime Circle raided offices of two money exchange companies, Dar & Company and Al-Rehman Enterprises, Wednesday nabbing at least four money changers, Sajjad Naseem Sethi, Mohammad Shafiq Butt, Habib-ur-Rehman and Ahmed Nadeem, besides seizing records of the money sent abroad illegally, the Express News reported Thursday.

MINGORA: During a routine patrolling in Swat District Wednesday, 10 terrorists surrendered before the security forces in Kuza Bandai and Bara Bandai while two others, Haider Ali and Fazlur Rehman, were apprehended from Janabad and Damghar areas in Charbagh Tehsil, The News reported Thursday. The militants included Abdullah, Qari Khurshid, Syed Hussain Khan, Muhammad Luqman, Rahimullah, Abdullah, Farooq, Anwar Ali and Iqbal.
