Karachi: IO testifies in abduct case
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News, an anti-terrorism court recorded testimony of the investigation officer (IO), Mohammad Babur of a case of kidnapping for ransom of Syed Nishat Ali (June 2006) on Monday filed against three men, identified as Mohammad Afzal, Sardar, and Khalil and a woman, Asma.
IO Mohammad Babur deposed that the police arrested Afzal and Asma from Nagan Chowrangi, when they came to gather the ransom money, and arrested Sardar, and Khalil from a house in Surjani Town. On the complaint of victim’s nephew a case (FIR No.307/08) was registered under Sections 365-A and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7(e) of Anti-terrorism Act at the North Nazimabad police station.
Sardar and Khalil were also booked in two connected cases registered under Sections 353, 324 and 34 of PPC and 13-D of Arms Ordinance.
