Peshawar: Man, transvestite receive bail in ‘gay marriage’ case
PESHAWAR: A court of additional district and sessions judge Mr Tahir Mahmood granted bail on Thursday to two persons, Malik Iqbal and transvestite Kashif alias Rani, charged with attempting same sex marriage. Earlier, the bail petitions had been refused by the court of judicial magistrate (May 28), as reported by the Dawn News Friday.
The Faqirabad police, arrested the accused from the Malik Plaza on May 24, and laid claim that they had received a report that the marriage of Malik Iqbal and a transvestite would take place in the Malik Plaza located on the Dalazak Road. The accused have abnegated the charge and said the birthday party of one of the transvestites was in progress when police conducted the raid.
