Karachi: Violence eats 2 more lives
KARACHI: Two more people fell prey to the ongoing spree of violence in the metropolis on Monday as the death toll in the month of June rose up to 15, the Dawn News reported Tuesday. In the first incident, some unidentified men stopped the car of a religious scholar, Syed Ayub Naqvi (68), under the Nazimabad Flyover before shooting him dead while he was driving to an Imambargah in Nazimabad No 3. In the other incident took place in the evening, an activist of a religious party, Ibrahim Mana (32) was shot dead five times by two armed bike riders near Met Office within the precincts of Mobina Town Police Station. After the latest violent spree, the law and order situation in the city has further deteriorated as areas including Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Habib Bank Chowrangi, and roads linking Nazimabad with other parts of the metropolis received huge traffic jams due to panic.
