Multan: Bunch of counterfeiters booked
MULTAN: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Tuesday a gang of counterfeiters who were involved in producing fake government stamps, stamp papers, and other judicial papers, The News reported Wednesday. As per details, Mirza Abdul Qudoos Akhter s/o Abdul Wahid r/o Gulfishan Street Gulgashat Colony Multan, Syed Shehzad Ali Gillani s/o Shamshad Ali r/o Jaleel Abad Multan and Zahoor Ahmad s/o Kaloo r/o Lodhran were allegedly involved in preparation of counterfeit stamp, judicial papers, counterfeit government stamps, false educational certificates, false registration books of vehicles, and false CNICs. The FIA team raided Eid Gah Chowk at Khanewal Road Multan and recovered counterfeit stamp and judicial papers worth Rs3,618,450 and counterfeit government stamps of Rs9,807,205, total worth of the confiscated items was around Rs13.05 million. The FIA team also recovered blank result cards of education board, Rawalpindi, blank result cards of education board, Multan, blank matric certificates of education board, Bahawalpur, blank registration books of vehicles, false driving license of Bahawalpur, Faisalabad & Lahore, International Pakistani Driving License and false/forged CNICs. Officials said FIR No. 56/10 dated 11.6.10 U/S 255/ 256 /258/ 259/ 260/ 467/ 468/ 471 /472 /473/474/475 PPC r/w 109 PPC has been registered by FIA Anti Corruption Cell Multan.
