Faisalabad: 1 killed on blasphemy accusation
FAISALABAD: A group of armed persons attacked and killed two Christian brothers, Rashid and Sajid, who were taken to court by Police for getting their physical remand in a blasphemy case, the Dawn News reported Tuesday. Following the incident, the city of Faisalabad fell in the lap of fear and panic as minorities took to the streets and exchanged firing with different groups. Police had registered a blasphemy case against the two brothers under Section 295-c of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on charges of distributing handwritten pamphlets containing “disrespectful material” at the city bus stand on July 10. The pamphlets carried two cellphone numbers. Khurram, believed to be an activist of the little known Tehrik-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool SAWW, got the two brothers arrested.
