Karachi: Gang of Fraudsters busted; 1 held
KARACHI: On directives of Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Moazzam Jah Ansari, the FIA officials, on Sunday, arrested an important member of a gang that used lost National Identity Cards (NICs) to commit fraud with international companies, the Express News reported Monday. As per details, the gang, consist of a maternal uncle and his two relatives, used to set up fake companies on fake NICs and import stuff on credit, but after taking delivery they changed the name of the companies and fled away. The gang used to get the lost NICs by Pakistan Post Office personnel. The ringleader of the gang is Qamar Shamim alias Shamoon, who has the services of his two relatives, Sheikh Waqas Tariq and Sheikh Hamza Tariq, while Riaz, an official of Pakistan Post, provides them with the lost NICs. The FIA has arrested Sheikh Waqas Tariq and further investigations are underway.
