Sialkot: DPO detained for 30 days for lynching 2 brothers
LAHORE: According to the Dawn News, Waqar Ahmad Chohan, Sialkot’s District Police Officer (DPO) was detained, on Sunday, for 30 days in connection with the killing of two brothers by a mob. A senior provincial government official said the DPO could not be apprehended unless sufficient evidence about his involvement was produced. The official said that a probe committee headed by Punjab CID Mushtaq Sokhaira would submit its report within a week. There are reports that the provincial chief secretary has written to the federal secretary establishment for Mr Chohan’s suspension. Some TV channels reported on Sunday night that the federal government had suspended Mr Chohan.
