Gujranwala: Man freed after ransom payment
GUJRANWALA: A young butcher of Naushera Virkan, who was kidnapped for ransom about a fortnight ago, was released by his captors when his heirs paid them ransom in Sukkur (Sindh) on Friday. Reports said that Maqsood Ahmad was on his way to buy cattle from the market when some armed men kidnapped him from near Sheikhupura and took him to Sukkur. From there, culprits made a call to his family and demanded Rs2.5 million ransom for the release. Subsequently, the amount of ransom was settled at Rs250,000 which the heirs paid to captors.
