Lahore: Auto-lifters shoot dead car-owner
LAHORE: The Nation reported on Wednesday that some unidentified auto-lifters gunned down a man who started chasing them after he successfully foiled their attempt to steal his car here in Township area, police said on Tuesday. The police said that two fleeing auto-lifters shot dead the car owner when he tried to capture them after they failed to steal his car here in the limits of Township police. The deceased later identified as Faisal Butt, 40, a resident of A-Block Township, rushed outside his house when he heard the security alarm installed in his car that was parked in the street. Brother of deceased told the police that as Faisal saw two unidentified people on a motorcycle were trying to steal his car, he challenged them. The thieves tried to escape from the scene but the car owner started chasing them on the car. The motorcyclists opened fire on the car-owner as he reached near them and fled away from crime scene. The police have registered a case of murder against unidentified auto-lifters on the complaint of deceased’s brother Khurram Sajjad.
