KARACHI: As reported by The News on Monday, a teenage boy was booked in a murder case when a bullet was mistakenly fired from a rifle which belonged to his guard and resulted in an employee being killed. The victim was twenty-two-year-old Salman. The case was reported at the Paposh Nagar police station. SI Basheer said that the incident happened at the Abbasi General Store, near Khilafat Chowk, Paposh Nagar. He added that during investigation it was revealed that the Abbasi General Store belongs to Bisharat and the deceased Salman was his employee. On Sunday morning when Salman came to the shop for work, Bisharat’s fourteen-year-old son, Muneeb who was present at the shop told him that his father would be coming in a few minutes. In the meantime, the security guard, Mohammed Haroon came and asked Muneeb about his father so that he can borrow his repeater. Muneeb however, picked up the repeater and told Haroon to take it, but Haroon refused and told Muneeb to put the repeater back where he found it as he would take the weapon from his father’s hand. The guard then went inside a room to put on his uniform. The police further stated that, even when told, Muneeb had not placed the repeater back to its original place but rather started playing with the weapon when suddenly a bullet was accidentally fired from the repeater and it hit the employee Salman, injuring him. Salman was then rushed to a hospital where during the treatment he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The deceased was unmarried and was the resident of Sector-5A, North Nazimabad. The police arrested accused Muneeb who is also a student of Class-IX, studying in a private school and also seized the repeater. An FIR was lodged on a complaint of the victim’s father, Zahid Mansoor. Further probe is underway.
