Islamabad: Rs3m plundered in bank armed robbery
ISLAMABAD: According to the Dawn News on Tuesday, a gang of robbers looted a local bank of Rs3 million, besides injuring its security guard on Monday, police said. The police said a man entered the Habib Bank, Sanjagi Branch, while puffing a cigarette. When its security guard asked him to extinguish the cigarette, the man pulled out a pistol and started beating up the guard with its butt. In the meantime, another man, already present in the bank, overpowered the guard and took his weapon in his custody. Besides, two more persons armed with weapons entered the bank and held its employees at gunpoint. They looted the bank of Rs3 million and took four mobiles from the staffers and escaped in black Toyota Corolla. Shortly after getting the information the police reached the spot and started collecting evidences. During the course of evidence collection it was revealed that the bank did not have CCTV camera. Besides, the bank has only one security guard and there was no safeguard room for the security personnel.
