Lahore: PSM ex-chairman charged with Rs 22bn misappropriation
LAHORE: As reported by the Daily Times on Wednesday, an Anti-Corruption Court charged former Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) chairman Moeen Aftab and his accomplices on charges of embezzling Rs 22 billion, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday. The court presided over by judge Shaukat Memon, resumed the hearing of the Steel Mills corruption case and indicted nine people. Other than Moin Aftab, Brigadier Abdul Qayyum, Imtiazul Hassan, Asghar Ali Farooq, Syed Zahid Ali Hashmi, Muhammad Aslam, Ali Haider and Najmuddin were indicted. The Federal Investigation Agency had sought time to file the final challenge in the case. However, Aftab said nine months had passed and therefore the interim challan should be considered as the final one.
