Islamabad: Police arrest 3 with liquor
ISLAMABAD: As reported by The News on Thursday, the Margalla Police Station have seized a large quantity of liquor recovering 137 bottles of branded liquor and 192 cans of beer during a crackdown and arrested three persons, a police spokesman said. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Mumtaz along with his team was on patrolling when he stopped a car (ICT MV-638) at Nazimuddin Road for checking. During the checking, they recovered 36 wine bottles from the car and also arrested the driver later identified as Atif Raza, a resident of Dhoke Mori, Bhara Kahu. During the investigation, the suspect disclosed that he had purchased the liquor from a house located at Nazimuddin Road in Sector F-8/1. Following the information, a special team was constituted by SP (Saddar) Liaqat Ali Malik to raid the aforesaid house. The team raided the house and arrested two persons identified as Hamza Ali son of Malik Ishrat a resident of Multan and Jahanzeb son of Javed, a resident of Peshawar.
