Karachi: Clifton murder mystery solved
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Thursday, Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved a case pertaining to the murder of four people of a family in Clifton. Khalid Haroon, in his late 50s, his wife Anila Khalid along with their children, Mariam Khalid and Danish Khalid, both in their mid 20s, were found dead inside their apartment in Block 5 within the remit of the Boat Basin police station. The police said that they arrested the key suspect, Iftikahr alias Badshah, who had allegedly hammered the four people to death earlier this month. “The suspect was very close to Anila Khalid who used to call him as her son,” said SSP for investigation Athar Rasheed Butt. “He had been known to the family for the last 12 or 13 years. He used to carry out their chores. Initial investigations showed that he committed the crime to rob off valuables and cash,” the SSP said. The police claimed that the mystery was solved after strict surveillance of the apartments and forensic examination of the objects found from the crime scene. “We have incorporated the suspect’s name in the FIR (524/2010) lodged by Riaz Haroon, younger brother of Khalid Haroon, with the police station under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code,” said an official at the Boat Basin police station.
