Sialkot: Police arrest serial killer
SIALKOT: The Dawn News reported on Thursday that the police claimed to have arrested a serial killer who murdered 15 elderly women in a month. Senior police officers told journalists on Wednesday that a Muradpur police team, led by Sadar DSP Waseem Akhtar and Inspector Malik Naveed, raided a hideout in Uggoki’s Adalatgarha locality and arrested Yousaf. They claimed Yousaf, who belongs to Gujranwala and had been residing at his sister’s house, had killed 15 elderly women after depriving them of cash in various parts of the district. They said the arrested man would promise financial aid to women under the Benazir Income Support Programme and through other charity organisations and then kill them. They said Yousaf confessed to killing 15 women after kidnapping them. He would hit them with bricks and stones and throw the bodies in far-off rural areas or along the banks of water channels, the officials said. The police claimed to have recovered nine of the bodies.
