Woman got robbed in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: As reported to the Dawn News, a woman was robbed of Rs60,000 and gold ornaments in broad daylight at Lal Kurti here on Wednesday.Dr Khalid Khan, who is associated with the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, said his wife was leaving the house at Defence Road for bringing her daughter from school when she found two gunmen around her car. Dr Khalid told Dawn that as his house had been burgled last year, her wife used to carry her gold ornaments, cash, a digital camera and some other valuables with her whenever she left the house. He said the gunmen forced her to give up the gold bracelets and earrings she was wearing. Though she shouted for help but the gunmen snatched the bracelets but could not take away the bangles. One of her neighbours rushed to her rescue but the gunmen grabbed her bag containing the cash and valuables and sped away. Dr Khalid said: “The police arrived at the crime scene, recorded our statements and demanded the list of stolen gold ornaments and other valuables and left the scene.” He said what the police would do now when there had been no trace to the valuables stolen from his house a year back.
