Lahore: Two rapists given 25-year imprisonment
LAHORE: According to The News, Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Jabbar Khan on Thursday awarded 25 years jail each to Rehmat Ali alias Fiaz and Jhangir for raping a girl. The court awarded life imprisonment to Nadia, a female co-accused in the case. It also imposed fine of Rs. 25,000 each on Rehmat and Jhangir. In case of non-payment of fine, they would further undergo two months jail term. The court imposed fine of Rs. 10,000 on Nadia. In case of non-payment of fine, she would face one month more imprisonment. Jhangir who had secured a bail was not present in the court at the time of announcement of decision. The court issued his perpetual arrest warrants. According to the first information report (FIR), Rehmat and Jhangir in connivance with Nadia had abducted Sumera Bibi from Data Darbar in 2005. Sumera, a resident of Khanewal, had come to visit the shrine along with her brother, Abdul Waheed. The outlaws took Sumera to the house of Robina alias Billo in Samanabad area. The latter used the place as a brothel house. The criminals first raped girl and then forced her into prostitution. The Lower Mall police station had registered a case on the complaint of Waheed, the brother of victim girl.
