IDPs rally assailed, 9 hurt in Dadu
DADU: According to the Dawn News on Monday, flood-affected people held a demonstration here on Sunday to protest against shortage of relief goods. But they were attacked by club-wielding people on motorcycles near the residence of a provincial minister. The protesters from Kando Wah village of Mehar taluka took out a procession from a relief camp set up in the Government Boys Degree College. When the procession reached near the residence of Senior Minister Pir Mazharul Haq, they were attacked by people on motorbikes. Nine of them were injured. Those injured were identified as Jabbar Solangi, Mohammad Solangi, Salimullah Solangi, Mehar Solangi, Gul Bahar Panhwar, Imdad Ali, Ms Khatoon Begum, Ms Noori and Ms Nawabi. Police took the injured to civil hospital. Jabbar Solangi said they were going to the press club but near the residence of the minister they were attacked. Gul Bahar said that people from Kando Wah village living in the relief camp had not received any relief for nine days.
