Sialkot: 2 more women’s corpses found
SIALKOT: Dawn News reported on Sunday, the police discovered the remains of two more old women on Saturday from the outskirts of the Daska city on the information of serial killer Yousaf Mughal, who has confessed to killing 28 women after looting their belongings in the last three months. Sadar DSP Waseem Akhtar said the police had found 17 bodies, all allegedly murdered by Yousaf Mughal. He said the accused had also killed three women in Wazirabad, Ahmad Nagar and Gujrat in 2004. He said Mughal was arrested in 2004, but was acquitted in two cases while in the Gujrat murder case he was sentenced to life imprisonment. But another court declared him innocent when he appealed against the conviction. Soon after his release in 2010, he started killing old women. The DSP said Mughal was a career criminal as he was also involved in robberies. He said the accused would snatch gold ornaments from his victims before killing them and with the looted booty, he had bought a house in Muzaffarpur, Sialkot. On Friday, the police also arrested Shahid, who runs a jewellery shop in Gujranwala, and would buy the looted gold ornaments from the accused. The police confiscated the ornaments worth Rs150,000 from Shahid. Earlier, the accused had confessed to killing 17 women in Sialkot district. Later, he changed his statement and increased the toll to 28. So far, the police have found 15 bodies of the women in various parts of Sialkot district. The heirs to the women have started nominating Yousaf in murders cases. The police said Yousaf had admitted kidnapping and injuring Razia Begum, of Mujahid Road in Sialkot, and Nazeer Begum, of Lorry Adda Gujrat. He threw them near village Kotla Ambaanwala in critical condition. Sialkot SP (Investigation) Nasir Haneef Qureshi told reporters the accused had strong nerve. He said a special investigating team consisting of the Daska ASP and SHOs of Muradpur and Motra police stations was investigating the issue.
