LAHORE: According to the Dawn News, an assistant sub-inspector was shot dead allegedly by unidentified people near Doongi Ground in Allama Iqbal Town here on Monday. The motive behind the attack was said to be a property dispute. The police said Shahbaz Masih (45) had gone to a nearby park for a walk by his car where some unidentified people shot him dead. The Iqbal Town SHO said the family suspected the involvement of Kalu in the murder of Shahbaz as he bought a plot from (Kalu) in Shahdara for Rs600,000. Kalu demanded Rs400,000 more when the market price of the plot increased, which Shahbaz refused to pay. Both had a quarrel over the issue in the past. Shahbaz was survived by three children while his wife had already died of brain hemorrhage some time ago.
