Lahore: Authorities get time of 2 weeks to recover boy
LAHORE: As reported by the Business Recorder on Tuesday, the Lahore High Court Chief Justice (CJ) here Monday hearing a ‘missing person case’ took strict notice of non-submission of reply from ministry of interior due to carelessness of federal law officer and gave him last chance for the purpose. On last hearing, CJ Khawaja Muhammad Sharif had sought reply from secretary ministry of interior on the matter and also directed a deputy attorney general to ensure submission of the reply by next date of hearing. On Monday, the law officer presented a letter on behalf of the ministry which stated that a report about whereabouts of the alleged abducted person, from all the secret agencies working under the domain of the ministry, was in the waiting so a three-week time should be allowed. The letter also pointed out that the copy of court’s order and the petition was provided to the ministry a few days ago so that detailed reply could not be filed in time. At this, CJ observed, “I am unable to understand that why deputy attorney general did not send copy of petition. This type of lapse should not be on the part of law officers of federal government.
