Karachi: 5 brigands arrested, one killed in open fire
KARACHI: As reported by the Daily Times on Thursday, locals captured three bandits responsible for killing a man in Sector 7-D of Surjani Town, the police said on Wednesday. Four bandits broke into a house, but when the residents shouted, the locals surrounded the house to capture the bandits. The bandits tried to escape, but the locals pursued them. They opened fire on the locals, killing Wajid Sheikh on the spot. However, the locals managed to capture three bandits – Ali Abbas, Zafar Abbas and Hafeez – and handed them over to the police. Locals capture two bandits: Locals captured two bandits responsible for injuring a man in Korangi, the Awami Colony police said. Residents of Korangi captured two bandits who had shot and injured a shopkeeper in a robbery bid. The locals brutally tortured the bandits, but failed to set them ablaze, as the police rushed to the scene and took the bandits into custody. Bandit killed in encounter: A bandit was killed in an encounter with the police at Khayaban-e-Badban Phase-VII, the Gizri police said. Some bandits were robbing a businessman who was taking his children home from school. The police rushed to the scene, but the bandits opened fire on them who countered and killed one of the bandits, Nadeem, while the others escaped. Rs 8,000 in stolen cash as well as a mobile phone was recovered from the deceased.
