Lahore: Doctor’s negligence results in baby’s death
LAHORE: As reported by The News on Thursday, a two months old baby boy died shortly after being circumcised in Jinnah Hospital on Wednesday. The boy underwent an attack of hiccups and vomiting and breathed his last in his Green Town house. Family said that the boy was discharged after being circumcised by Dr Assad of Surgical Unit II Jinnah Hospital. The deceased’s uncle said that the boy started vomiting on his way back to home and slept. His parents found him dead when they checked him at around 4:30pm. The deceased’s family staged a protest demonstration outside the Jinnah Hospital. A brief brawl between the child’s relatives and the doctors also took place in the hospital. Prof Javed Akram said that a four-member committee had been constituted to fix the responsibility.
