Rawalpindi: 2 kidnappers jailed for life
RAWALPINDI: According to the Dawn News on Thursday, an anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday handed down life-term to two men in a kidnapping for ransom case. Special Judge Malik Mohammad Akram Awan convicted Mubashir Iqbal and Ishtiaq Hussain and ordered confiscation of their movable and immovable properties. The court, however, acquitted three other men, Rana Munawar Hussain, Mohammad Jahangir and Mohammad Iqbal, for want of evidence. Westridge police booked the five men on the complaint of Malik Akram who said he was kidnapped by them and released only after he paid Rs10 million ransom. He said the captors at first demanded Rs250 million but later brought down the demand to Rs10 million.
