Islamabad: Security force arrest another TTP man
ISLAMABAD: As reported by the Dawn News on Friday, a suspected member of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan was arrested by security force on Thursday for allegedly facilitating Faisal Shahzad, the failed New York’s Time Square car bomber, sources told Dawn. The sources said Faisal Abbasi was in hiding in Waziristan after the arrest of Faisal Shahzad in New York. But appeared along with the three militants and Fahim Ahmad on September 8, they added.
Faisal Abbasi and Fahim Ahmad succeeded in escaping during the raid of the police while Mohammad Shoaib Mughal, Mohammad Shahid and Hunbul Akhtar were arrested on September 8 by Sihala Police at Islamabad Highway near Kak Bridge. The name of Faisal Abbasi was also mentioned in the FIR registered against the three militants. The two escapees went underground shortly after the raid, but Faisal Abbasi again appeared on Thursday, resulting in his arrest.
Faisal Abbasi, a native of Murree, is employed in the accounts department of Council of Islamic Ideology. However, he has not been attending the office for the last four months. The sources said that he also arranged meeting between Faisal Shahzad and TTP’s chief Hakimullah Mehsud. The group trained Faisal Shahzad, in making explosive, handling and use of arms and ammunition.
They also helped him in getting traveling documents of America. Funds worth $13,500 were also transferred to Shahzad in America through a money changer of Islamabad.
