Karachi: Suspected bandit dies in hospital
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Friday, suspected bandit who had sustained bullet wounds in an exchange of fire with police in Korangi on Wednesday died of his wounds on Thursday, officials said. They said the area people in Korangi 4 managed to overpower four bandits after their armed robbery attempt. “Although the area people captured all the four alleged bandits, two of them managed to escape. The two suspects were handed over to the area police after having been severely tortured,” said an official at the Awami Colony police station. “Later, on a tip-off from the arrested bandits — Raghib Ali and Tanveer — the police raided a hideout near Murghi Khana area of Quaidabad and arrested Muhammad Rafiq.” After a brief exchange of fire the suspect was arrested in wounded condition and was shifted to the JPMC for the treatment, the police officer said. “On Thursday evening he died of his wounds despite a surgery and treatment,” added the official. He said the police had recovered a TT pistol from his possession and he was wanted in several cases of robberies and street crimes.
