Islamabad: 3 more suspects halted in Nato equipment case
ISLAMABAD: As reported by the Dawn News on Monday, three more suspects were arrested and equipment stolen from Nato containers were seized as the crackdown against the elements involved in the illegal trade continued on Sunday. Police said the material seized included accessories of helicopters, planes, wireless sets and uniforms. According to DIG (Operations) Bani Ameen, police raided an abandoned factory owned by one Farooquddin on Saturday night and found huge quantity of equipment stolen from Nato containers and stocked there. Farooquddin was arrested along with two other men identified as Ismail Khan and Mohammad Ayub, the DIG said. On Sunday, police raided a house and arrested three suspects. They were identified by police as Saleem Abbas, Awanuddin and Chanvez. Most of the arrested men belong to Bajaur Agency and, according to police record, are involved in criminal activities.
