Islamabad: Dispenser arrested for selling stolen drugs
ISLAMABAD: As reported by the Dawn News on Monday, the capital police have said that they caught red-handed a dispenser of Polyclinic selling medicines to a person in Rawalpindi which allegedly had been stolen from the hospital. Following information that a gang was involved in selling medicines after stealing them from the Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad, Superintendent of Police (City) Haroon Joeya directed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ahmed Iqbal to constitute a team to arrest the thieves. A special police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) of Aabpara police station, Khalid Mehmud and ASI Qaisar Abbas started investigation and arrested the hospital dispenser, Abdul Wajid while heading to Rawalpindi on a vehicle (RID-1700) to sell the stolen medicines there. Police claimed to have recovered the medicines worth Rs500,000 and also arrested the receiver Khalilur Rehman, a resident of Sadiqabad in Rawalpindi. During initial investigation, the dispenser confessed that he had sold stolen medicines three times earlier to Mr Rehman, adding some other persons were also involved in the crime.
