Karachi: Security guard dies on duty
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Monday, a young security guard was shot dead in a Gulshan-i-Iqbal locality in the early hours of Saturday, police said. They said that 22-year-old Deedar Hussain was employed with a private security company and posted at a superstore in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Block 4. “Deedar was waiting outside the store when it was being closed. Two men on a motorbike stopped on the main road opposite to the store,” said an official at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station. “One of them came close to the guard and fired multiple shots at him after exchanging some hot words.” He sustained two bullet wounds and died on the spot. The assailants fled from the scene in a flash. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination. “We came to know that the victim had some dispute with a group of youngsters and they had several fights in recent weeks,” said the official. “It appears that the murder is linked with the same dispute. The victim was unmarried and hailed from Kandhkot, Sindh.”
