Karachi: Former diplomat’s house burgled
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, nearly half a dozen armed men broke into the house of Dr Masuma Hasan, a former ambassador to Austria and chairperson of the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs (PIIA), in the early hours of Monday and ransacked her home, reportedly manhandled her and her son before walking off with cash and jewellery. The house is located in KDA Scheme No1. Five men armed with pistols also threatened the retired bureaucrat and widow of Fatehyab Ali Khan, president of the Mazdoor Kisan Party, when she denied having any safe in her house. They tied up the elderly lady and her son with pieces of ropes. The armed men who stayed nearly for an hour in the house took away more than Rs20,000 in cash, jewellery and two computers.
