Lahore: Auto-lifters gang busted, 11 cars seized
LAHORE: As reported by The News on Tuesday, THE Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff, City division, claimed to have arrested five car lifters of a gang and recovered 11 stolen cars worth Rs 7.2 million from them. The arrested members of Babar Car Lifters’ Gang have confessed to 14 cases of car lifting during preliminary interrogation. A special team, constituted by the SP CRO, busted the gang and arrested its five members, including the ringleader. They are history-sheeters and 14 cases have also been traced against them in Lahore, Jhang and Rawalpindi districts. They were identified as ringleader Babar Hussain, Muhammad Riaz, Rashid alias Ashraf, Tauseef Haider alias Haleem Shah and Maratib Ali. Illicit arms were also seized from them. Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Aslam Tareen has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.
