Mianwali: Villagers beat dacoit to death
MIANWALI: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, the enraged villagers beat to death a ‘dacoit’ on Sunday night who was allegedly trying to escape after a botched-up dacoity bid in which two people were shot at and injured in the precincts of Chakrala Police Station.
Reports said three dacoits entered the outhouse of Allah Dad at Dhok Balochan Village of Mauza Thamewala. Noor Muhammad, who was asleep in the courtyard of the outhouse, woke up and was taken at gunpoint by the intruders. As Noor tried to put up resistance, the outlaws opened fire on him, leaving him injured. Noor’s father, Allah Dad, also woke up and was shot at by robbers. He too got injured.
Meanwhile, hearing the gunshots, locals got alerted and besieged the outhouse. Some of them, who got weapons, started firing which was retaliated by the dacoits. Amid the crossfire, two dacoits fled the outhouse while the third was hit by a bullet. Soon the locals overpowered the injured dacoit and started thrashing him, resulting in his death.
The locals later handed over the body to the police and a case was registered under Section 459 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of injured Allah Dad Baloch.
The dead dacoit was identified as Hanif of Rikhi Kalri.
Both the injured were admitted to Chakrala rural health centre where they were said to be stable.
